Project Description

Baseline Assessment | Institutional Assessment | Portfolio Review

Oxford Policy Management Limited

Pakistan Microfinance Investment Company (PMIC) was set-up in 2016 to serve the microfinance sector of Pakistan. PMIC operates as the apex organization for meeting the financing needs of microfinance institutions (MFIs) and Microfinance Banks (MFBs). It provides wholesale lending facilities to both MFIs and MFBs, who on-lend, with the objective of creating a sustainable microfinance sector in Pakistan and contributing to economic growth. The baseline assessment was commissioned to understand where PMIC stands currently with regards to its stated objectives and to provide the basis for future evaluations of the investment. BAZ, as a sub-contractor to Oxford Policy Management, has played its role in developing an evaluation framework, undertook a baseline assessment, did portfolio review, and developed a gap analysis report on monitoring, evaluation, and learning mechanisms in place at PMIC.
