Duration: 2018-20
The assignment supported Pakistan Microfinance Investment Company and its partner institutions in building practical capability in cash-flow-based micro, small, and medium enterprise lending. Dr Bilal Ahmad delivered training and advisory support focused on borrower assessment, enterprise cash-flow analysis, repayment capacity, loan sizing, credit risk identification, and lending discipline for small businesses. The work helped participating institutions move from document-heavy or collateral-biased approaches towards stronger business diagnostics and cash-flow-based decision-making. It also strengthened staff understanding of women’s enterprise lending, portfolio discipline, delinquency prevention, and practical credit appraisal tools that could be applied by field and credit teams.
