Development of SME Green Financing Strategy – Pakistan

The assignment centred on developing a national strategy and operational framework to promote green financing for SMEs in Pakistan, with BAZ Consultants supporting the engagement and Dr Bilal Ahmad contributing to the broader advisory effort. The work involved aligning green finance initiatives with national climate and environmental priorities, strengthening the legal and regulatory framework, and identifying mechanisms to channel domestic and sustainable capital into green investments. It also included policy and institutional reviews, the development of multiple options for SME green financing schemes, proposals to mobilise the Environment Endowment Fund, and capacity-building support to facilitate effective rollout in collaboration with government counterparts.
